How does AsphaltPavingIndex work for contractors?

1. You are listed free

Every eligible contractor already has a basic profile built from public Google Maps data. There is nothing to buy and nothing to sign.

2. Buyers find you by trade and area

Property managers and owners browse by scope and by the municipality their site sits in. Your position comes from the published 0-100 score, under a formula anyone can recompute.

3. The homeowner sends a request

Your profile carries a request form rather than a phone number. What comes in reaches AsphaltPavingIndex by email. Nothing has been sent on to any company from this site, and we would not start without agreeing it with you first.

What does a buyer see on your profile?

Public record, presented plainly and nothing dressed up. A reader gets your Google rating and review count, the trades you are listed under, the areas you appear in, and a way to reach you. Nothing on the page is presented as something AsphaltPavingIndex inspected or approved, because we do not visit sites or read certificates, and saying otherwise would mislead the person reading it.

  • Your website if you have one, plus a request form on your profile that reaches AsphaltPavingIndex
  • Your Google rating and review count, unedited
  • The trades and GTA areas you are listed under
  • No fee to be listed, and no subscription or dashboard to manage

Can anyone pay for a better position?

Never. Position comes only from a published formula over three parts: reviews and reputation, what a firm states on its own website, and how complete its record is. Keeping money and ordering apart is what makes a property manager trust the list, which is exactly what makes a free listing on it worth having. The full method is on the methodology page, so you can work out your own position and see what would move it.

Contractor questions, answered

What does it cost a paving contractor to be listed here?

Yes. A listing is free, no company can buy a better position, and the order on every list comes from a published formula with no advertising slot anywhere on the site. What we are building on top of that is a paid route for work we pass on, which is a separate thing you would have to agree to; nothing is charged to you for simply being in the index.

How do buyers reach me?

Not yet. The site now runs a request form, and what a homeowner sends reaches AsphaltPavingIndex by email. Nothing has been passed to any company from this site so far, and we will not start sending work to you without agreeing it with you first.

What is in a profile, and what can I get corrected?

A profile carries your name, area, trade categories, Google rating and review count, website and hours, all from public sources, plus a phone number once you claim your listing. If a phone number, category, service area or address is wrong, the correction process on the contact page sets out how to get it fixed, and how to have a listing removed if you would rather not appear.

Can I pay to rank higher on AsphaltPavingIndex?

No, and that is the point. Position comes only from a published score out of 100 over three parts: a Bayesian-adjusted Google rating and review volume, what a firm states on its own website, and how complete its record is. Nobody can buy a position, which is exactly why a buyer comparing bids trusts the list, and why appearing on it is worth your time.

How current is the profile you show for my company?

Profiles are built from public sources as of the August 2026 dataset and re-ranked on a rolling basis as new reviews land. A detail that was right at scrape time can go stale, which is why the correction process exists. Nothing on your profile is presented as something this site inspected or approved.

Something on your listing wrong?

Corrections and listing removals are handled through the process set out on the contact page, which explains what to include so a change can be made without a back and forth.
